Las Vegas is one of the hottest housing markets in the country. Zillow has been testing out a new option for those sellers to get a cash offer fast.
“This is just making it a lot easier for sellers,” George Kypreos said.
Zillow is promising a fast and easy way to get a cash offer on houses for sale. With a couple clicks, homeowners can request a Zillow offer online.
“Within 48 hours, they should get something back from Zillow asking some additional questions. And then within a week or so, they should be able to have an offer possibly sooner,” Kypreos said.
Sellers looking to move fast said it works.
“It’s a no brainer, at least it was for us,” Danny Cook said.
Cook got an offer on Zillow right away for his mom’s house and said he expects the entire process will take less then a month.
“We kinda expected a low ball offer. I mean, that’s what you normally get from most of them, but the offer that came back wasn’t low ball,” he said.
While real estate experts agreed Zillow offers can be a path to an easy, quick cash offer, some said the traditional way of listing is still likely to get you the best deal, especially in this seller’s market.
“Our Vegas market is a very strong seller’s market right now and what we’re experiencing, is most home owners are getting multiple offers immediately as soon as they hit the MLS. Investors want to flip the property, so they usually write a lower offer that’s below market value to make the money they need to make, to make it make sense,” Karina Silva with Innovative Real Estate Strategies said.
